Fantastic food
We had already been to a different Indian restaurant twice (other side of river) but it was not 100% so we searched for another and found this one. We ordered Chicken Madras, Daal, garlic Nan, samosas (lamb) and garlic rice. I asked for the Chicken Madras to be “Indian spicy” as I hate the watered down version that tourists like. We were more than satisfied all the food was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of flavor. Would recommend this restaurant and if time permits we will be back.

If you’re looking for South Indian, avoid Indian Curry Restaurant: A Disappointing Experience… (more below) UPDATE: In response to the restaurant stating that I’m trying to steal their secrets. I’m sorry but I’m neither a chef nor a trainer. I am the president of a very large consumer group that advocates for honesty and transparency in food and beverage and hospitality. If I want to learn how to make dosa, (which I have been eating since I was a child,) I’m better off to ask my mother. Her dosa is the best! Anyways, on to the review: With eager anticipation, I ventured out of bed super early on a Sunday morning, craving the flavors of South Indian specialties. Upon arrival, the cold reception from the staff, lacking any warm greetings or smiles, immediately dampened my spirits. I literally said “hi guys, and they just stared at me.” Smile guys. I’m here to spend money! To my dismay, the outdated, incorrect and inaccurate menu highlighted and offered but failed to deliver. Sure, the menu had Dosa, Vada and Idli listed, but after taking time and then placing a carefully thought out order, staff reported that they won’t be serving South Indian food for a couple days (with no real concrete reason for the lapse in service). Despite being assured that this was just a momentary lapse in service, doubts persist, echoed by others (who I checked with before writing this review,) who have shared similar experiences in this restaurant. I also visited the restaurant a few months ago looking for Dosa and no dice! But I didn’t think much of it back then. So this time I asked my friends, they also had the same experience. Last visit I went for the bait and switch, hungry for South Indian but settle with sub par North Indian. In the words of Uncle Roger, “haiii yahhhh!” It’s not rocket science to compile a menu that is accurate. In Vietnam, it doesn’t cost a lot of money either. Informing a customer before they dive deep into a menu about what’s not available is similarly easy to perform, especially given the staff are not Vietnamese and there should no issue with communication. (But given the response back on my review you can clearly see that these are not educated people). Regrettably, this restaurant falls short, leaving me feeling completely dissatisfied. I don’t think any self-respecting individual should come back. I certainly won’t. PS - for those who worry that I didn’t find dosa this day, rest assured, I called a (more honest/less arrogant) owner of another Indian restaurant and they were able to accommodate me.
